The Rottweilers

Rotties have had a lot of bad press in the past. We actively work to promote the true image of the breed which is one of a healthy, obedient, loyal and loving dog. When we breed, we breed from lines that for generations have produced the quality of dog that does credit to it's breed name and to it's kennel name. We do not nor ever will breed purely to make a profit from our dogs. Nor do we rehome dogs once they are past their showing potential. At present we have 5 dogs over the age of 7 in retirement in our home. When puppies are available potential owners are made aware that they are NOT buying a puppy but are hoping to adopt one of our kids! Health screens are undertaken on both parents before a litter is bred and puppies are screened in the first few weeks of life. Docking is now banned in the UK, so pups now proudly wave their lovely tails.

Gone to wait at Rainbow Bridge:

With a sad heart I have to announce the passing of Audaxus The Saxon Sirene - our beloved Bilss. She passed away in her sleep, with me beside her, in the early hours of the morning of August 26th. She had reached the grand age of 13 years and 7 months old. Bliss was a great friend, never putting a foot wrong in her long life. I miss her sweet old face so much.

We have just lost our dear old chap Thomas (or Tommy Womble as he was so affectionately known to us) - Audaxus Restoration. Tom was nearly 10 and had lived for the last 6 years with a spinal problem. He battled with decreasing mobility in the last few months and finally, on Monday, July 5th - he lost the battle. We will always remember Tommy Womble with such great affection, a more kind and gentle dog you would be hard pressed to find. He was also a great 'talker' - and had an opinion on just about everything. I will so miss his handsome head resting on my lap as he related to me all the troubles of his day. I hope is spirit now runs freely with all of those that wait for us at Rainbow Bridge.

LINKS

I'm including links to sites that I have found useful and trustworthy. I will not include links to sites that I know tag visitors as I feel this is an invasion of privacy and represents a potential security threat.

If you're looking for a puppy or a breeder, go have a look on Champdogs.co.uk

For Rottweiler pups and breeders go to:

 www.Champdogs.co.uk/breeds/rottweiler

or for Lancashire Heeles go to

This site is always a good starting point as they check out the people who are on their site and will not allow posting of any pups that are not from health tested parents. Champdogs actively promotes responsible dog ownershithe first link)

Canine Ovulation Pads:

http://www.ovulationpads.info/  An excellent service from this site is the norm. Order your pads on the morning of one day and you'll usually get them the next. An absolute must for working out when to mate a maiden bitch! Can't recommend this site highly enough - see my Natural Heath page for more info.

Safe4 disinfectants:

I was recently introduced to this company's products and I have to say that I'm most impressed. Their Odour Killer really does work and without leaving a sickly sweet smell behind. In fact, it leaves NO SMELL behind!! Their products have all the relevant DEFRA certificates for parvo, kennel cough, MRSA and all the others nasties that worry us. Best of all, the dogs don't sneeze when I use them and the surfaces are safe to be walked on even when they're still wet - no bio hazards involved for our dogs. When I contacted them about their products they were fast and courteous in their reply and very generous in their samples!! I'm sold and will be ordering before long to beat the Vat increase.

Give 'em a try - you won't regret it!

Doghealth  - of Swaffahm, Norfolk

www.doghealth.co.uk is the site to go and buy some of you doggie necessities from. They do a particularly good and strong puppy playpen which I can personally recommend as being suitable for indoor or outdoor use with large or small dogs. I've purchased three for my lot and have them outside in the garden for using as a corral when needs be - or to section off the patio so that the Heelers have a safe area to play in. Doghealth do a numberof other useful items at very reasonable prices and will ship to most UK addresses for a small fee. I've just had to replace 3 raised dog bowl stands and the ones from Doghealth are strongly constructed and adjustable in height - just wish they did single bowls stands as not all of my dogs are happy to share a stand with each other.

I have to say that the staff are cheerful and helpful. Well done ladies and gentlemen.

Welcome to the virtual home of the Audaxus family.

We are a small non-commercial. hobby kennel. Our dogs are our passion. For over 25 years we have owned, bred and loved Rottweilers. Ten years ago we added a second breed, the Lancashire Heeler, to our kennel. We now own, show and occasionally breed both Rottweilers and Lancashire Heelers. At present we have 7 Rottweilers and 10 Lancashire Heelers sharing our home with us. All our dogs live in the house as cherished family pets - they are our pets first and show dogs second! You don't come into our home if you don't like dogs, mind getting covered in dog hair and slobber or are offended by a Rottie or Heeler wanting to sit beside you on the sofa to make friends or share your cup of tea.

Although we do not breed that frequently, when we do breed a litter of pups we strive to reach the highest standard that we can. For that reason we are members of the Kennel Club's Assured Breeder Scheme. This means that all of the dogs we breed from are currently health tested and have achieved a satisfactory result in those tests available to the breeds we own.

Our Ruby - Audaxus Krystal Fire - had 11 babies, 5 boys and 6 girls on Nov 19th 2011. We've been so lucky in the people who have come foreward for a puppy from us, we now have only 3 little girls to find homes for. Our other babies have gone to great and exciting homes with good owners. Mum obviously can be seen and met, as can Grandma (Ruby's mum), 3 uncles, Aunty Bella and cousin Oliver. Whether you like it or not, you're going to meet Charlie too - my young Lancashire Heeler and self-appointed babysitter and guardian angel to the Rottie pups. I am an Assured Breeder with the KC and have exacting standards for my dogs and in breeding my dogs. Suitably serious potential owners can contact us on 01362 696453, 07833 651403 or via email at judyspooneruk@yahoo.co.uk.

We are pleased to announce that Audaxus Midsummer Lord (aka Charlie) has DNA tested as 'Normal' or Clear and passed his first eye exam with flying colours.

                                                            The Rotties

Above are two of our young Rotties from Harriet's last (and final) litter - Ruby and Merlyn - born May 21st 2009. Ruby will shortly beome a mum herself - her babies are due on or around November 20th 2011. Ever since Rhea had her baby (Charlie) Ruby has been very broody. She's desperate to have babies of her own to love and to cherish - and we knew just the handsome young lad who would help produce healthy and gorgeous babies with Ruby. Many Thanks to Tina and Bill Gibson for allowing us to use CH. Dominatus James Dean Deister and for all their help and support.Meanwhile, Ruby is happily awaiting the arrival of her own babies - and I'm busy sorting out the Rottweiler maternity wing (aka the garage) and making sure all will be nice, clean, warm and comfy for her when the time arrives.

Rory, George and Oliver will once again be going to Crufts and upholding the family's good name in the KC's Good Citizen's Award classes as well as their breed classes. From the Heelers, Alfie, Buster and Rhea will be respresenting the family. We very much look forward ro seeing all our friends, family and supporters at the NEC in early March 2012.

It is with saddness that I have to announce that we lost 3 of our 'golden oldies' last year. We said goodbye to our dear old Tilly in May after a long life with us. In Septembr Fitz left us after a long battle with a bladder tumor - he was just a few weeks short of his 11th birthday. Elizabeth, his litter sister, just didn't want to go on without her lovable brother to look after and she left us in early October, aged 11 years. We shall miss our old friends every day but have a wealth of happy memories to look back on.

Goodbye my old sweethearts - I think of you every day and my heart aches with the missing of you.

                                                              The Heelers

Above are three of our younger Heelers. The very handsome chap on the right of the picture is Buster with 1CC and 2 Res CC's to his credit so far. We are fortunate enough to have one young male who has DNA tested as Clear and will be avilable at stud to suitable bitches in 2010. He is a proven dog - and we have his daughter with us. Rhea is a consistantly highly placed bitch both at Champ and Open shows.

September 2011 - my girls have all come into season at the same time (again!). We are hoping that we will have a litter of pups (or 2) in the near future - naturally they will have the usual health checks as well as all the other stuff that I do as an Assured Breeder. We already have a number of people patiently waiting for a pup from us but we may - just may - have a pup available for a good, loving and 'for life' home. Should you wish to enquire please do so through my Champdogs page.

Dec 2010

All pups from Sacha and George's litter are now gone to their new homes and doing well. They really are a gorgeous litter of Rotts and a credit to both parents. I'll be posting pics of our lad, Oliver, as and when I get time.
